Imagine being able to search millions of current public conversations for keywords related to your business -that's what this tip is about.
If you're not familiar with Twitter, you'll probably want to read up on it (or other 'microblogging' services) here at
wikipedia first.
For those who do know, and who have an account (even without an account, you can use a service like twemes.com), did you know that you can twitter:
"Track XYZ" (XYZ being the topic you choose)
and be notified anytime anyone mentions whatever theme/word/concept/keyword that is related to your particular business?!
Have you thought about how you could use that for business?
For example, if you track the word "wedding" and find someone talking about their upcoming wedding, and you're a wedding photographer, well comment @ that person with some helpful advice and/or your website address.
Obviously this will work better for those who can do biz over the internet or phone, but you could still add in local keywords and see what happens...
You can find out more details
here on the twitter blog.
